As a college-preparatory school, Lowell Catholic offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for success beyond graduation. Students may choose from a variety of courses allowing them to create an academic pathway that aligns with their goals and aspirations.

The Lowell Catholic Internship Program provides juniors and seniors with opportunities to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while exploring potential career interests. Through field-based learning experiences, students deepen their understanding of career pathways, connect classroom learning to real-world applications, and develop the skills needed for future success.

Internships allow students to work alongside professionals and mentors in authentic settings, providing valuable insight into potential college majors and career opportunities. Through observation, collaboration, and practical experience, students build confidence, communication skills, professionalism, and a greater understanding of their strengths and interests.

Lowell Catholic offers two internship pathways designed to support a variety of career interests and goals.

Professional Internship Pathway

Students may participate in internships with local businesses, organizations, alumni, and community partners. These experiences provide exposure to a variety of professions and allow students to explore potential career paths while developing valuable workplace skills.

Teaching Internship Pathway

Students interested in education may participate in the Lowell Catholic Teaching Internship Program. Paired with an elementary or middle school teacher, interns gain firsthand experience supporting instruction, working with students, assisting with lesson preparation, and learning about the many responsibilities of educators. This experience provides students with valuable insight into the field of education while allowing them to contribute to the learning and growth of younger students within the Lowell Catholic community.

The college planning process at Lowell Catholic is designed to help students and families navigate each stage of the journey with confidence.

Beginning early in high school, students work closely with counselors to explore interests, identify strengths, and develop academic and extracurricular plans that support their future goals. As students progress through high school, individualized guidance helps them research colleges, prepare applications, explore career pathways, and make informed decisions about life after graduation.

Our counseling team partners with students and families throughout the college search and application process, providing support with college selection, application planning, essays, financial aid resources, scholarships, and postsecondary decision-making.

While many Lowell Catholic graduates pursue four-year colleges and universities, we recognize that every student's path is unique. Our goal is to help each student identify the opportunities that best align with their talents, interests, and aspirations, and to prepare them for success in whatever path they choose.

At Lowell Catholic, we are committed to providing students with meaningful opportunities to engage in rigorous academic work that prepares them for college and beyond.

Students may pursue advanced coursework through a range of options, including Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Enrollment classes. These courses provide students with the opportunity to challenge themselves academically, earn college credit, and experience college-level expectations while still in high school.

In addition, Lowell Catholic offers access to Virtual High School (VHS) courses, which expand academic opportunities beyond the traditional classroom. Through VHS, students can explore a variety of unique and specialized courses that complement their academic interests and goals.

Faculty work closely with students to ensure they are placed in appropriate courses that both challenge and support their academic growth. Students are encouraged to pursue pathways that align with their strengths, interests, and postsecondary aspirations.

At Lowell Catholic, we believe in providing students with access to rigorous and diverse academic experiences that prepare them for success in college, career, and life.

At Lowell Catholic, academic success is built through intentional support, strong relationships, and a commitment to every student’s growth.

Students participate in advisory three times per week in small, consistent groups that include a mix of students from grades 9–12. Advisory provides a structured environment for academic guidance, community building, and ongoing student support throughout the school year.

Support is further embedded into the school day through WIN (What I Need) time, when teachers are available to provide targeted instruction, clarification, and skill development. In addition, faculty offer regular after-school academic support, ensuring students have access to help outside of the classroom when needed.

Students also benefit from peer academic support provided by members of the Honor Societies. These students assist peers during WIN and after school, adding another layer of accessible, student-centered support.

Faculty use MAP and PSAT data, along with classroom assessments, to monitor progress and guide instruction. This ongoing use of data allows teachers to respond to student needs in real time and ensure that every learner is appropriately challenged and supported.
